Abeyance

Brand Identity: Spring 2024

This branding identity was created for Abeyance, a fictional art gallery located on an empty lot across from my apartment. Originally intended for office buildings, the site remains unbuilt, existing in a perpetual state of waiting. This liminal, in-between space serves as the central concept for the gallery. Abeyance hosts exhibitions that explore themes of remnants, transition, and anticipation, offering a space for art that reflects an existence caught between two points in time.

The gallery features 12 exhibitions, each curated by a local artist. For the branding, I designed a unique interpretation of the letter A for each artist, imagining how they would express their relationship to the space. Through the use of various mediums, I created a collection of logos that each represent an artist’s individual vision while tying into the gallery’s overarching theme of time, transformation, and waiting.
