Power of the Presses

Brand Identity: Spring 2024

Power of the Presses is a reimagining of a catalog for the exhibition of the same name featured at the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art in the spring of 2025. The exhibition was a large-scale group exhibition of a diverse range of print works showcasing the strength of the medium.

 

This catalog features three artists from the exhibition whose work I found deeply impactful and who showcased the importance of print and physical media as a way to disseminate alternative narratives and personal histories. 

 

The typographic choices for the catalog reference methodologies and ideologies found in the print work featured. Larger text mimics the look and texture of letterpress text, while smaller footnotes work to disrupt the text, referencing how these artists work to disrupt larger dominant narrative structures through their print.
