Hello! I’m Helen, a graphic designer based in San Francisco. I grew up in the Pacific Northwest, just outside Seattle. I spent much of my childhood outside poking around tide pools and watching wildlife, a habit that taught me to observe closely and find wonder in small things. I studied Fine Art at the University of Washington, where I developed a deep appreciation for materials, process, and storytelling. I’m currently pursuing my MFA in Design at California College of the Arts, where my work continues to explore the intersection of visual communication, media, and meaning. Outside of design, I’m always collecting and thinking about how we shape and are shaped by the spaces and systems around us.

About
My
Design

My work explores the intersections of materiality, process, and storytelling in design. I am drawn to physical and digital disruptions, whether through experimental typography, layered visual narratives, or interactive structures. Through methods like projection, hand-drawn elements, and unconventional layouts, I try to challenge how people engage with design, often blurring the lines between form and function. My approach embraces bold, playful choices in color, composition, and concept, creating dynamic to create engaging and thought provoking visual experiences.
